With recent rains, now is the perfect time to plant, get pruning, rearrange and generally prepare your garden to get through the wetter, cooler months ahead.
Prune all plants that flowered over Spring and Summer, this encourages new healthy growth and a thicker habit, great for hedges and feature plants. Even plants that flower all year round will appreciate it 🙂 While pruning, this is a great time to check and treat for any pests or disease.
Topping up and lightly mixing in compost will give your soil a much-needed boost, providing nutrients to already established plants and getting soil ready for new ones.
Planting now(on a cooler day), will give your new plants time to establish themselves before next Summer, and when Spring hits, they’ll give you an extra burst!
Happy Planting!
